The Children’s Communication Centre: Developing verbal language and communication

In developed countries it has been shown that 6-12% of children experience a significant specific communication difficulty. However, in South Africa with its health-care, social, economic and educational challenges we believe the number to be higher. When children’s language development is hampered, this has been shown to impact on their development of literacy skills, academic performance, later vocational skills, social development and emotional well-being.

The Children’s Communication Centre (the Centre) is a therapy centre and clinically driven pre-school, specialising in the development of listening, speech, language and communication skills for children with significant hearing, speech, language and/or communication challenges.
